The Paraiban Cariri represents an untouched Brazil with an unique landscape, featured by its beautiful rocks and bush caatinga.

Many places in the world are referred to Cariri as “mystical”, “full of energy” as Lajedo do Pai Mateus, due to its unique beauty and to the fact that it was a ceremonial center for the pre-historical indigenous peoples in the past, who inhabited the region for at least, 10.000 years. The people of Cariri descend directly from the Tapuia Indians, who have lived in this region for a long time.

The Tapuia culture defends hospitality, and this will not go unnoticed to the visitors. The best way to visit the region is with a combination of jeep 4×4 trip & trekking. Possiblity to include mountain bike programs as well.
